Last year I had the opportunity to work with the amazing organization, Keep-A-Breast. They are a non-profit that through art events, educational programs and fundraising efforts, seeks to increase breast cancer awareness among young people. Having personally had both friends and family affected by this fatal disease, I was particularly inclined to contribute to this noble organization. I got to paint a body cast made from the singer Dia Frampton from Meg & Dia.

Starting painting the cast live at the Van’s Warped Tour, Massachusetts, 2007.

Due to my crazy life, it took me about 1 1/2 years to finish it. Here’s my piece..

Acrylic on plaster body cast

If you think that it looks like such a typical painting for me, it definately is. It just seemed so approriate.

Thanks for all the great info about Keep-A-Breast. Also, you have a beautiful blog! Too Shy to Stop writer Lauren Bucci just wrote an article about KAB. You can read the full article here.
